01 / ENCLOSURE

Start with what is visible.

Current Flock product imagery documents a compact black LPR enclosure. The exterior shape does not reveal the exact model, internal revision, owner, operating status, or field of view.

02 / OPTICS + ILLUMINATION

A lens is only one layer.

A 2022 teardown of an older unit identified a camera lens, illumination LEDs, and a motion sensor. That evidence describes the photographed device, not every camera now installed.

03 / ON-DEVICE COMPUTE

Images become searchable data.

Lantronix documents an earlier Flock platform built around an Open-Q 624A system-on-module and a custom carrier board. The computing platform inside current units is not established by the sources used here.

04 / POWER

Solar outside. Battery inside.

Flock says its LPR cameras can use solar and battery power. The older teardown identified a rechargeable lithium-ion pack. Capacity and internal placement can change across hardware generations.

05 / COMMUNICATIONS

The connection is part of the system.

Flock describes LTE data communications. The older teardown separately identified an LTE modem and a GPS antenna. Their grouping here is explanatory, not an exact current wiring diagram.

06 / EVIDENCE LIMIT

An exploded view still has limits.

Manufacturer material supports the current exterior family and broad power and connection claims. Independent teardown and reverse-engineering work supports component categories for particular devices. None of these sources proves a universal internal layout.

Move from hardware to accountability.

A hardware layer can explain how a system may work. It cannot answer who owns a mapped camera, whether it is active, how long records are retained, who can search them, or what a particular jurisdiction paid. Those questions require record-level evidence.
